All that night I didn't sleep, because something was fighting in my heart.

Me levanté poco antes del alba; mis esclavos dormían, la luna tenía el mismo color de la infinita arena.
I arose a little before the dawn; my slaves were sleeping, the moon had the same color as the infinite sand.

Un jinete rendido y ensangrentado venía del oriente.
A horseman exhausted and bloodied came from the East.

A unos pasos de mí, rodó el caballo.
A few steps away from me, the horse rolled over.

Con una tenue voz insaciable me preguntó en latín el nombre del río que bañaba los muros de la ciudad.
